While the term Swayamvaram, in India is in existence from Epic periods and mostly followed by the Rulers and Kings.  Those days the  Bride choose her husband, with guidance from the parents, relatives, and well wishers.

In modern days, the educated, employed Bride or Bridegroom and their parents hardly   finds time to have social gatherings, religious activities, to visit their native village, etc.

When time comes to go in for the Marriage Alliance for their child, the parents started passing the details and horoscopes through relatives, paid agents, displaying in the website, putting advertisement in newspaper, magazines, registering in jadagalayas which was not found to the entire satisfaction.

Hence we thought of conducting the PARENTS MEET.    We came into existence in the      Planet Earth in February 2002, CHITRABANU (tamil year) SWAYAMVARAM  and the first PARENTS MEET (SANGAMAM was held in April 2002, and then regularly, once in three months.  So for we have conducted 14 parents meet in Chennai. Our wings had spread in towns like SRIRANGAM and MADURAI and conducted once in the year 2005.  The Results are successful, since parents comes to an understanding early.

We believe we have been successful because we have defined this PARENTS MEET Since we are the pioneers and know very well to conduct -  How it should be, for Modern days.

P.R.NARASIMHAN, Organising Worker, is a science graduate , aged 45 years worked in Taj Coromandel Hotel, Chennai for 14 years(1980-1994)  In TOKYO, JAPAN as Indian restaurant   manager in AJANTA, top of yebisu(1994-1996) In Miami Florida(1997) and Dallas, Texas, U.S.A.(1998-99)

He Quit the job, came back to INDIA and doing social service in Education and Religious activities, aparts from the Swayamvaram(for Brahmins only.)
